Summertime is truly an exciting season of the year. With plenty of activities to do outdoors, and FAMILY RE-UNIONS and WEDDINGS scheduled throughout the season--one has no excuse to stay indoors. But, with plenty of sunshine comes excessive heat--not forgetting the heat waves that hit Texas almost every year; meaning staying cool and wearing comfortable clothing is a must this summer. I've partnered with Proper Sightseeing Tours, a site seeing, tour company based in LA, California to give you a few tips on how to make the most out of your summer weekends................Speaking of summer weekends, my family and I have made it a priority to go out more and explore the world starting with our state of TEXAS. Our goal is to celebrate life by living every moment as though it were our last. Our quest this weekend was to visit the RIVER WALK in Waco, TX, where we crossed two different bridges--took pictures--and gazed at the beautiful scenery over the Brazos River............... With the heat index being over 90 degrees Farenheit, last weekend, I had to take precautionary measures by making sure that we carried lots of water, sunscreen, bug repellent and all dressed comfortably.

Waco was an absolutely beautiful place to tour. Situated along the Brazos River, it has numerous attractions including the Armstrong Browning Library, Cameron Park Zoo,the Dr. Pepper Museum, The Waco Riverwalk, The Magnolia Silos, and many more. Any tourist would feel right at home in this multicultural city of east Texas. With so many attractions to choose from, we decided to tour the delectable Brazos River , from the heightened view of two beautiful bridges. It was so refreshing to be out in the sun experiencing the calm of the Brazos River as it's waters flowed smoothly under our bridge. Our staycation was a much needed one, allowing us to escape from our hectic schedules and all of life's demands. As we strolled across one of the three bridges built over the river, we could the laughter of children from a distance running around on the river bank. We also had the privilege of watching a canoeing team practice on the river. The sites surrounding the river were nothing short of majestic. The Martin Luther King Jr. Park was the ideal place to have a family picnic and engage in recreational activities. On the other side of the bridge, we found a line-up of restaurants, a cluster of bull statues and a monument built for the veterans who gave their lives in battle for their fellow countrymen and women. Our stroll was truly a memorable one.

I opted to wear light colored clothing because lighter colors do not absorb too much heat. White and taupe were the colors that I chose for this trip. I absolutely love taupe and white because they go well with every other color. And if you are a fashion lover like me, neutral colors are most likely your best friends... Giving you a wide palate to work with when putting your outfits together. I chose to wear a beautiful taupe pleated dress by Mossimo, and paired it with a brown, vintage, Liz Claiborne handbag and some white tennis shoes by A+. I added a bohemian necklace, a pair of earrings, a floral bracelet, a pair of sunglasses, and a rose-gold Geneva watch to complete my ensemble. I always try to pick great quality pieces for myself that are not only affordable, but are sophisticated as well. It doesn't matter if I'm going out to run errands, or attending an important event; My goal is to always look put together when I leave the door. Hence, wearing no more than three colors at a time and picking accessories like a good pair of sunglasses and classic jewelry are a definite way to vamp up your everyday outfits............
After our long walk, we decided to get some refreshments at one of Waco's local restaurants. We enjoyed dining at the Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant Chain. One thing that we love about dining there is that they serve good quality food that is well prepared and does not break the bank. Giving their customers a great selection of food and beverages to choose from. We definitely recommend that you dine there if you are in the area.
Well, this brings us to the end of this week's post. I absolutely enjoyed working with my partners and have been walking on sunshine since they chose me and Miss Isabella to be their affiliates. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to all my readers and subscribers for all your support. I really wouldn't be here without you. Enjoy more pictures of our adventures down below. Until next time, God Bless!
