THE BEST AFFORDABLE PLACES TO SHOP YOUR WINTER WARDROBE

Seeing that winter is just around the corner, most people are thinking about updating their winter wardrobes. With major retail stores spending millions of dollars to advertise their winter inventory during this festive season, it's easy for anyone to fall into the trap of overspending on basic necessities such as winter coats, or boots.

So, I have a solution that will help keep you from stressing about how you are going to afford buying your winter basics for your entire family. I have come up with a list of places that you can shop for your winter wardrobe without breaking the bank.

1). THRIFT STORES/SECOND HAND SHOPS.

This is definitely one of the best ways that you can shop for winter for the entire family this year.

You should know by now that thrifting is one of my favorite things to do. It's a fun way to shop for

things that you want or need without feeling guilty about spending your hard earned money.

I usually give myself a $20 limit whenever I go thrifting, to keep myself accountable.

Thrift stores always have great quality clothing and products that will only cost you a small fraction of their original price. Our family has already managed to find all the winter basics/outerwear for the upcoming cold season. From coats or the $5 military jacket that I'm wearing, to footwear and even scarves, we are all set for the 2018-2019 winter months. And to top it off, everything cost us less than $40, which in my opinion, is a homerun.

My recommendations are your local thrift stores or charity shops, Goodwill, Texas Thrift, or flea markets. You are sure find some great items at very affordable prices.

2). DISCOUNT STORES

Another great alternative for shopping at major retail stores is trying out discount stores.

Since I discovered discount stores, I hardly ever shop retail except for household groceries.

Places like Dirt Cheap, Aliexpress.com, and Groupon.com are great discount stores.

Most of their stuff is brand new and pretty good quality, so if you're the type of person

who doesn't care for second hand items, this is probably the best option for you.

You are likely to pay 50% or less on what you would typically spend at a retail store. Which in turn will save you tons of money that you could use for something else. I plan on doing all my Christmas

shopping at discount stores this year, and I have already set a specific budget that I don't plan on going over. So I can't wait to see what I will manage to find for my family this year.

3). GARAGE SALES

Lastly but not least, garage sales are a great place for you to go looking for your winter necessities this year.

I personally love shopping at garage sales because the items are often very cheap and vendors are often willing to bargain with you if you do not want to pay the asking price.

Because it's getting cold, garage sales are really popular this time of the year, but don't let that stop you from looking around your neighborhood.

You might just be fortunate enough to find a sale going on in your area.

That brings us to the end of my list, and the end of today's blog.

Feel free to share any of the affordable places that you shop at in the comments below.

Until next time, enjoy the rest of your week and Merry Christmas!!!!!
